The Georgia State Senate and House of Representatives believe strongly in the impact of public service and community outreach. Founded in 2006, the GGA Staff Fundraising and Outreach Team is a nonpartisan, nonpolitical, and not-for-profit group comprised of Senate and House staff members seeking a way to give back to the community and to the citizens of Georgia who are less fortunate or who are currently experiencing tough times.

Each year, we coordinate events to raise money for or provide assistance to organizations that directly impact the quality of life for persons in the metro-Atlanta area and other communities around the state. In the past few years, we have had the privilege of providing support to organizations such as the Jud C. Hickey Center for Alzheimer's Care, Adopt-a-Grandparent, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and a number of assisted living facilities scattered throughout Georgia. In 2007, we were also able to visit Americus, Georgia and assist in their tornado recovery and cleanup efforts.
