The Committee on State & Local Governmental Operations has two general areas of jurisdiction. The first area of jurisdiction is over general laws that relate to special taxes, city and county organization and powers, subdivisions, and administration of special districts. The committee also reviews legislation of general application that apply to counties and cities throughout the entire state. The second area of the committee jurisdiction involves the processing of legislation with limited local impact. Special abbreviated procedures are available to pass such legislation.
